Our Mission

The first thing I did after I came out of the womb was catch a triple tail. I’m kidding, I did pee first.

I have been fishing for as long as I can remember, before I could walk my dad used to carry me on his back while he fished. He got dive certified when I was 8, but I could not legally get scuba certified till I was 12. I was never one to be told no, so I would jump in after him to free dive. I’ve come a long way from my 15 second dives, now on my best days I can free dive down to 120ft on one breath.

Jumping off the boat and diving underwater is like entering a whole new world without leaving Earth. It’s meditative to tune out the rest of the world and enjoy the beauty of nature.

The past 20 years though I have seen my pristine underwater environment evolve from one of beauty to one of pollution and overfishing.

Do you know what the Great Pacific Garbage Vortex is?

The GPGV is a huge accumulation of trash made predominantly of plastic and micro plastic, located at the subtropical ocean vortex of the North Pacific.

Now, can you guess how big the patch is?

Well it has an area larger than France, Spain, and Italy combined.

In fact: UNESCO has declared the patch as a federal state.

The mission of Aquatic Assassin is to promote education paired with action. It’s not enough to be informed, we must actively work towards reversing the trend.
